Reading and listening to music are ways that I can escape from myself. Get out of my own head. When I read, it’s like I’m in a completely different world. A world where I don’t exist.
Today in the therapist’s office, the doctor told my Mom that I am seriously depressed and really do need the Prozac. Then, when we got into the car to go home she began to cry and cuss and yell. She kept yelling, “I am f**king pissed off!” and “Why can’t you just fix yourself?!” and “I don’t know what to do here! Tell me what to do!” How did things get so messed up? I don’t know what to do. I feel like I am ruining everyone’s lives. I have never seen my Mom cry so much or talk like that. This is all my fault. I just wish I could push the magic button and make it all go away.
“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” – Albert Einstein
“What makes life worth living is knowing that one day you’ll wake up and find the person that makes you happier than anything in the whole world. So don’t ever lose hope and give up, everything turns out okay and the good guy always wins.”
(Not sure if I agree with that one but it sounds good.)
“I think of life as a good book. The further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense.” — Harold Kushner
“Live this day as if it will be your last. Remember that you will only find ”tomorrow” on the calendars of fools. Forget yesterday’s defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. Doomsday. All you have. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, ”If I had my life to live over again. ”Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day! Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“We can have in life but one great experience at best, and the secret of life is to reproduce that experience as often as possible.”
– Oscar Wilde
“You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay? Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.”
– Jim Rohn
“Life is like a mirror, we get the best results when we smile at it.”
“Suicide is man’s way of telling God, “You can’t fire me – I quit.”” — Bill Maher
I don’t understand what the point of living is if you are miserable and ultimately going to die anyways. With every day your body is growing older and dying. It seems to me that if you want to end your own life then you should have the right to do so. People around you and who “care” for you may be sad at first but eventually they will get over it and forget all about you. It will be as if you never even existed which is exactly how it will be in sixty years or so when you die from cancer or whatever else it is that kills you. There is no difference..
